Shepherd Texas Church Worship

Our Worship

Why we sing with all our hearts:
Psalms 98:4 says, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all the earth; make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Why we lift our hands during praise and worship:
Psalms 134:2 says, Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord.

Why we clap and shout unto God:
Psalms 47:1 says, O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Why we sing and worship in the Spirit:
Ephesians 5:18-19 says,….but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord….

Why we pray in the Spirit:
Acts 2:4 says, They lifted up their voice to God with one accord.

Why our worship includes musical instruments:
II Samuel 6:5 says, And all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments.

Why we observe communion as believers:
1 Corinthians 10:16 says, The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

Why we testify publicly:
Psalms 22:22 says, I will declare Thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee.

Why we anoint with oil for divine healing:
James 5:14 says, Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
